Day 8 – Removal of Front Beam, 1962 VW Beetle Donor Chassis

Well, today I feel motivated to pull the front beam off my old 1962 Volkswagen donor chassis. For those who may have just started following this thread, this is the same vehicle I wrote about on Day 1, you can find that post right here. Alright…so, there are only four bolts that hold the front beam onto the frame head. Taking them out and removing the front beam is not as complicated nor, as difficult as one might think. I tried to shoot pics of this so you can see what the front beam looks like from a few different perspectives. What’s next Keith? Well, I’ll wire brush this all down and hit it with some primer, then paint, then replace all the old worn out parts (bushings, brake components and such). That’s all for now…
