Day 51 – Rear Shock Installation

Next, I have to weld on the rear shock mounts and install the shocks. My buddy Kevin, was upgrading his sandrail, so I was able to buy his used Fox Shocks for a couple hundred bucks.

I started with my grinder and cleaned up where I wanted to weld on the mounts. Forgot to wear eye protection –> BIG PAINFUL MISTAKE. You’ll see why in a few posts.

Next I took the mounts that I had and cut them in half with my sawzall. Clamped the mounts in place, and welded them on. Used my grinder again, this time wearing eye protection, and grinded clean my welds. Once that was done, all I had to do was spray some paint. Both, upper and lower shock mounts I found on eBay.
